Max Gavin in action for the Knights
The Atlanta Knights Elites and Selects reaffirmed their #1 national ranking with a sweep of the East Coast Jr. Eagles last weekend in SEJHL and MJHL junior league play. The Atlanta Knights completed a weekend sweep of both East Coast Jr Eagles teams in stunning fashion. Both Knights teams now lead their respective leagues and divisions both in points and winning percentage. The weekend saw and offensive explosion that the coaching staff was waiting for and proved to be inhospitable hosts for the visiting Eagles. Subsequently, the both Knights teams remained #1 nationally in the USAH polls for a second consecutive week.
However, the road gets a bit tougher for the Mighty Knights as they head up to Boston to compete in their second Junior A showcase this weekend, this one held in Haverhill, MA by the Eastern Junior Hockey League. The EJHL is the most prestigious junior A league in the eastern US and produces more NCAA Division I, II, and III players than any Tier II or Tier III league or program.. The Knights earned their invite to the event due to their stunning defeat of two EJHL teams in the EJHL Woodchuck Classic including a tough one goal (1-0) loss the EJHL leading Bay State Breakers.
The Knights return to home action November 21st and 22nd against the rival Tampa Bay Bolts of the MJHL and SEJHL. Puck drop is 5:00pm Saturday for the Junior Selects and 8:00pm for the Elites. Sunday games are 8:00am and 11:00am resepctively for the teams.
